Kenosha Unified School District will once again host the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) to provide nutritious meals to children in the community during the summer months. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

The SFSP aims to offer free meals to children aged 18 and under when school-provided meals are unavailable. Additionally, individuals over 18 who are identified as mentally or physically disabled by a state or local public educational agency, and who participate in a public or private non-profit school program during the regular school year, may also receive free meals.

Meals will be available at several locations from June 17 to July 24. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m., and lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Brass Elementary, Kenosha School of Language, Harvey Elementary, Curtis Strange Elementary, Southport Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, Lance Middle School, Washington Middle School, and Reuther High School. Meals will not be served on Fridays.

Emily Riedler stated that "this program fills a void created when school lunches are not available," emphasizing its role in helping parents meet their children's nutritional needs.

All meals must be consumed on-site and are provided without discrimination based on race, color, national origin, age, gender, or disability.

The institution providing these services is an equal opportunity provider.
