Families in the Kenosha Unified School District are invited to a new event called "Ready, Set, Learn!" from May 28 through 30. This open house aims to introduce families to what the district has to offer for children entering 4K and Kindergarten, as well as the Head Start program for qualifying 3- and 4-year-olds.
The event will be held at various elementary schools within the district, providing families an opportunity to attend their boundary school or another location if necessary. Through visiting the KUSD boundary page, attendees can find their designated boundary school.
Organizers promise a wide array of activities and resources at "Ready, Set, Learn!" including details on schedules, academic goals, and classroom tours. Visitors can experience hands-on play-based learning activities and meet representatives from partner daycares offering 4K through KUSD as well as wraparound childcare providers. There will be opportunities to engage with community resource providers, connects with the parent organization, and participants can also enter a drawing to win a backpack full of school supplies.
For convenience, registration can be completed onsite with staff available for assistance, or families may choose to register online. Required documents for registration include government-issued photo identification, proof of residency, and the child's birth certificate or passport along with immunization records.
The event locations and times are scheduled across three days, starting on Wednesday, May 28, and concluding on Friday, May 30, at various elementary schools across the district.
