The Village of Union Grove has announced it is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Village Board. The position, open due to a recent departure, will be filled by appointment according to Wisconsin Statutes. The appointed trustee will serve until April 2026.

Applications are being accepted until August 20 at 4:30 p.m. Interested residents must submit their completed forms to the Village Clerk at 925 15th Ave., Union Grove, WI 53182 or by email to skohlhagen@vi.uniongrove.wi.gov. Paper copies of the application are available at the Village Offices.

Applicants will be interviewed by the Village Board in an Open Session at a date and time yet to be determined. Each candidate may give an optional presentation of up to five minutes, with the order decided by random drawing. Board members will then ask questions before voting on the appointment in Open Session.

Village Board members are responsible for making policy decisions, adopting ordinances, approving the annual budget, and acting in the best interest of the community. Regular meetings take place on the second and fourth Mondays each month at 6 p.m. Trustees usually serve on three to five committees that meet monthly and participate in the Board of Review at least once a year. The annual salary for trustees is $6,300, paid monthly.

Questions about the process can be directed to Village Administrator Connor LaPointe at 262-878-1818 or clapointe@vi.uniongrove.wi.gov.
