The Dream Playground at Petzke Park, built in 2015 as Kenosha’s first fully accessible park, is approaching its tenth anniversary. The park was constructed with support from community members, local businesses, and organizations who contributed funds and volunteered their time during a two-week building effort.
To commemorate the milestone, organizers are planning an event titled “Party on the Dream Playground – a 10th Anniversary Celebration.” Scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the celebration will include live entertainment, free face painting, resource booths, and opportunities for children to use the playground. Food will be available for purchase through the Kenosha Achievement Center’s booth.
A ribbon cutting and short program will take place at 12:30 p.m., featuring remarks from Mayor David Bogdala, Dream Playground founder Tammy Conforti, and Chris Weyker, Chief Executive Officer of the Kenosha Achievement Center.
Organizers have opened sponsorship opportunities ranging from $100 to $2,500 to help cover event costs. Additional funds raised will go toward ongoing maintenance and sustainability of the playground. The deadline for confirming sponsorships is Wednesday, September 10 at 4 p.m. Those interested can contact Kris Kochman in the Mayor’s office by phone or email for more information or to request a sponsorship packet.
